PRESS RELEASE (Manhattan Beach, CA)
The Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards (BFDA) will honor achievement in electronic book publishing by individuals and organizations of all sizes, including publishers, developers, designers, manufacturers, institutions, and technology leaders.
The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) is proud to announce the launch of the new Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards for digital book publishing and excellence in innovation. See http://www.BFDA-IBPA.org for the program website.
Administered by IBPA with the help of judges representing all segments of the book industry, the BFDA will serve as a natural companion to IBPA’s Benjamin Franklin Awards for print, now in its third decade of recognizing publishing excellence. A unique feature of both Awards is that every entrant receives direct feedback from the judges regarding product improvement.
The BFDA is a rolling awards program. Submissions are welcome year round and entries are judged against a standard of excellence in four categories: E-books, Enhanced E-books, Books as Apps and New Technologies.
“A rolling awards process without calendar constraints mirrors the ‘real-time’ world of digital publishing and allows immediate access to IBPA’s unique brand of publishing education,” explains IBPA Executive Director Florrie Binford Kichler (photo left). “Entrants will benefit from direct constructive criticism from each judge.”
IBPA presents Gold and Silver Awards of Excellence with a suite of promotional opportunities, including announcements on IBPA’s website and all social media outlets, in IBPA’s monthly magazine, the IBPA Independent, to all industry publications, and more. Honorees will also be featured at the annual IBPA Publishing University, to be held April 26-27 in Chicago.
