The IBPA board of directors approved the change in Angela’s position to better reflect her role in the organization. The change is immediate. At the same time, Angela agreed to renew her contract with IBPA for another three years. Her new term begins July 1, 2016.
“IBPA is extremely fortunate that Angela Bole has agreed to stay at the helm for another three years,” said Peter Goodman, Chair of IBPA’s board of directors. “Publishers face many challenges, and the industry landscape is changing rapidly. Angela has amply demonstrated that she brings a robust managerial skill set as well as a rich vision of where IBPA should and can go to serve its membership.”
Under Angela’s leadership, IBPA has experienced significant growth in revenue and membership and has made major improvements to its flagship programs, including Publishing University and the Benjamin Franklin Book Awards.
“IBPA members stand out among the ranks of independent publishers based on their profound passion for their work, as well as their commitment to excellence and professionalism in the field,” Angela Bole said. “I’m honored to be of service to such a group and look forward to continuing to level the playing field for anyone who wants to professionally engage in the business of publishing.”
Prior to joining IBPA, Angela served two years as deputy executive director of the Book Industry Study Group (BISG). Before that, she served two years as BISG’s associate director and two years as its marketing and communications manager.
Angela holds a Masters of Science in Book Publishing from New York University and currently serves on the board of directors for BISG and IDPF, the International Digital Publishing Forum.
