IBPA Board Member, Elizabeth Turnbull of Light Messages Publishing, One of Publishing’s ‘Best and Brightest’ according to PW Star Watch

IBPA board member Elizabeth Turnbull has been named a 2016 PW Star Watch honoree. PW joined forces with the Frankfurt Book Fair to celebrate new leaders who are making their mark in the U.S publishing community, and help them expand their global network. 300 publishers were nominated and the list was whittled down to 40 honorees. The top honoree will be announced on September 15th, 2016 at a reception in New York City.

Elizabeth Turnbull

Elizabeth Turnbull is the Senior Editor at Light Messages Publishing. Elizabeth has worked with Light Messages for three years, and under her tenure, the press has added a new imprint and expanded to a total of 15-20 titles a year, many of which have gone on to be award winners and bestsellers in their categories.

Elizabeth also writes children’s books centered around rural Haiti where she was born and raised. Prior to joining Light Messages, she ran a marketing and fundraising company for nonprofits. Elizabeth studied Spanish and Journalism at Wake Forest University in North Carolina and received her MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Florida International University.

Elizabeth currently lives in Hillsborough, N.C., with her husband, where they are starting a small farm.
