The New England Library Association (NELA) Annual Conference is a regional library conference that attracts librarians who particularly work in Maine. In October 2013, they expect attendance of approximately 600 to 700 — about 65% who work in public libraries, 25% in academic libraries, 10% in other settings.
YOU CAN DISPLAY AT THE NELA ANNUAL CONFERENCE WITHOUT HAVING TO BE THERE!
The Independent Publishers of New England (IPNE), a long-standing IBPA Affiliate Association, will be hosting a cooperative booth at this year’s NLA Annual Conference. Special display rates start at only $55 per book. Visit the IPNE website for details, and to register.
What books do well at library conferences? Our experience has been that librarians aren’t terribly interested in whether books are new. They’re interested in quality books on topics they know their patrons are looking for. This means that small independent publishers who only do a book or two a year, or a book every two or three years, have a good chance of making sales.
