Did you know? IBPA members can send their books to BookExpo/BookCon with IBPA! Information and registration links below.

BookExpo is the premier event for North American publishing. Traditionally, this show marks the launch of book publishers’ fall lists — generally the biggest and most robust book list of the year. For publishers, BEA’s primary function is to showcase these upcoming books in order to get them in front of those who want to buy and/or promote them: the thousands of booksellers who attend; libraries and school systems; foreign publishers; producers and other members of the media.
In 2017, the trade portion of the convention, the BookExpo portion, will be held Wednesday, May 31 through Friday, June 2, 2017 and the consumer convention, BookCon, will be held Saturday, June 4 through Sunday, June 5, 2017. There will be no overlap of the two on the show floor.
Here’s what IBPA members have to say about participating in BookExpo/BookCon!
IBPA is able to support members’ book(s) at BEA/BookCon in a few different ways. Most IBPA members purchase Single-Title Display in our Cooperative Booth ($185/title). In addition to onsite book display, those who sign up for Single-Title Display and meet the submission deadline are added to our onsite book catalog, which includes book title, ISBN, price, cover art, company name, and website. Larger companies can purchase Full-Shelf Display to accommodate 4-5 books along with catalogs or sell sheets ($750/shelf, including dedicated company signage).
There are many ways to gather exposure for your book(s) as part of IBPA’s Cooperative Booth. To help facilitate onsite marketing, all publishers displayed in IBPA’s Cooperative Booth will receive a deeply discounted pass to the convention. Among other things, while onsite you can participate in an book signing or record a personal interview with IBPA. We also arrange a pretty great networking hour.
DEDICATED BOOTH SPACE: For those with even larger collections (and staff who can travel), dedicated booth space can be purchased to span both conventions. IBPA members interested in ordering dedicated booth space should contact Terry Nathan at terry@ibpa-online.org.
