In response to your numerous requests, we are pleased to announce another member insurance benefit brought to you by the Publishers Marketing Association (PMA), Argo (www.publiability.com), and The Hartford. (This is not to be confused with the existing and successful Media/Publishers Liability program.)
The Hartford’s Business Owners Policy (BOP) is now available nationally to qualified PMA members needing insurance protection for their building, office equipment or inventory, and for general or business liability, including products liability.
This is the answer, among many others, for PMA members who frequently need:
- Products liability coverage,
for those instances when the Home Shopping Network (HSN), QVC, Wal-Mart, Costco, or other companies require that you provide evidence of this kind of insurance protection.
because the distributor or fulfillment center you do business with requires that you insure your own books or the warehouse where your books are stored requires that you carry your own insurance.
- Business liability coverage
because you have leased or rented an office for your publishing business and the landlord requires it, or just because you know you need it.
- A Business Owners Policy (BOP)
because, although you have read our “Doing Business In The Home” article at www. publiability.com, your particular insurance company does not offer insurance protection for your home-based business stuff or your home-based business liability exposures.
How to get started:
Thanks to The Hartford’s desire to make this as easy as possible for PMA members, all you need to do is to call Hartford’s Service Center directly and to chat with one of their service representatives. The rep will ask you a few questions to qualify you for this insurance protection.
This is what you do:
Step 1 Call 1-800/457-2379 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Central time.
Step 2 When prompted, enter the extension number 4343, for
Olga Martinez.
Remember: It’s very important to identify yourself to Olga as a PMA Member and to give her the “secret decoder ring” number–101017.
