About the Program:
Learn the basics of giving and getting proper permissions in this fast-paced and fun presentation. After a brief review of basic copyright concepts, we’ll tackle common questions like:
- What should publishers consider when they receive a permissions request?
- Is there anything essential to know when asking for permission from another publication?
- How much time should you budget in your publication schedule for clearing permissions?
- What resources are available to you to help you find a rights holder to get permission and what can you do if you simply cannot locate them?
We’ll end our session with information on how crafting a solid rights policy can help your press prepare for bumps on the road to permission.
